Job Description

The Satellite Manager primary duties will be to oversee operations, sales, purchasing and employee management at the branch level. Responsible for the development and performance of shower doors sales activities in the Southeast Shower Division in the Glass Shop Channel. Staffs and directs a sales team and provides leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision and values. They have full facility responsibility to meet company directives and P&L objectives.

Position Summary:

· Safety:

  • Work with Plant Manager to Review all equipment with Production Employees to ensure that all equipment has mandated safeguards in place to protect employees
  • Ensure that all production employees are thoroughly trained in the safe operation of all equipment
  • Make certain that all production employees adhere to all corporate safety procedures, enforce policies, and take necessary disciplinary actions

· Quality:

  • Ensure all inbound material is inspected in accordance with established procedures, report all defective material, and ensure all RMAs are written and processed for credit
  • Establish and maintain quality assurance program for fabricated products
  • Work with Fabrication & Inside Sales Team to obtain 98%+ On-Time & Complete level of service

· Sales:

  • Work with Branch Manager to establish annual sales budgets consistent with corporate guidelines for growth and profitability
  • Achieve annual sales budget
  • Work closely with local outside sales team to nurture customer base and grow annual sales
  • Travel with outside sales
  • Field customer calls and work closely with the sales team to quickly resolve any issues

Inventory

  • Work with plant manager to develop reliable inventory compliant with corporate guidelines and market requirement
  • Ensure Cycle Counting is conducted in accordance with corporate guidelines

· Personnel Management:

  • Service Center Management
  • Set Goals and Monitor Achievements
  • Ensure Safe Work Environment
  • Schedule daily production work
  • Track daily production
  • Ensure productivity standards are met/exceeded
  • Review Weekly Sales Call Reports
  • Help Sales Team to Achieve Sales
  • Interview, hire, and manage
  • Project Quotes: Accuracy, Profitability, Competitiveness, Manage quote log
  • Work with Outside Sales Team to follow up on project quotes more than $5,000
  • Schedule receipt of material and delivery
  • Work with Plant Manager to quickly resolve all customer issues and process necessary credits

· Improve Manufacturing programs:

  • Streamline fabrication department utilizing Theories of Constraints and Lean Manufacturing
  • Establish production capacity for the facility to be used as a basis for scheduling
  • Capture and report performance against standards

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in an operations capacity
  • Proven success in increasing sales
  • Experience in the shower door industry required
  • 50-60% travel
