Manufacturing Engineer

Jumpstart your career with our client in Charleston, SC, and expand your professional portfolio. As a 3rd shift Manufacturing Engineer, you will be the primary resource to develop, support and make improvements to multiple production processes, manufacturing operations and related documentation.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Mechanical or Industrial Engineering degree (preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in the Automotive Industry
  • Experience as a leader of cost focused solutions to manufacturing issues
  • Experience in development, installation and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and processes
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems quickly and effectively implement short and long term counter measures
  • Strong analysis, problem solving, process and troubleshooting skills
  • Lean knowledge, basic PLC/Robot/Vision experience preferred
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office suite
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and strong ability to multitask
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational aptitude
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written
  • Must be available to work 3rd Shift

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage process related documentation including work instructions and setup instructions
  • Troubleshoot equipment and part defects. Implement corrective actions quickly and effectively.
  • Plan new manufacturing equipment, develop processes and determine equipment specifications as required
  • Work with the Process Planning team during development and launch of new equipment, tooling and processes
  • Provide training for new processes and process improvements
  • Optimize processes to improve safety, quality and material flow, while reducing cycle times and set-up times
  • Lead continuous improvement teams and provide technical expertise solving process problems
  • Coordinate and communicate with other departments
  • Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Process Planning
